Excellent Service Standards

My wife and I have been cruising regularly for more than 10 years (at least 2 cruises each year). This was our first cruise with Oceania and we were very impressed by the excellent standard of service. The staff were, without exception, friendly, bright and professional. They really did go that extra mile to keep the passengers happy and satisfied. The food was second to none. We were so impressed that we returned in August to sail on Nautica. We were delighted to find that the standards were just as high - it seems that such good service is a high priority with the cruise line. Well done, Oceania!
Quality of Food5
The food was of the very highest order, well presented and cooked to order. The range on the menu was exciting and catered for all tastes. Thsse comments are applicable to all the restaurant facilities.
Entertainment5
The level of entertainment is not as sophisticated as on some of the larger ships, but was well presented. The dance music was first rate, but, regretable, there were few dancers.

Staff5
It would be invidious to to name one member of staff - they were all helpful, friendly, attentive and professional and worked as a team.

Onboard Activities4
There was plenty to do and no pressure to become involved.
Cabins4
The cabins are not as large as most ships but are reasonably adequate. The shower, in particular, is on the small side, but compensated by nonstop hot water, plenty of towels, replaced twice daily and a good range of soap, shampoo, etc.

Question by O'Neill David and Susan, TODMORDEN (28 Sep 08 08:25) about this REVIEW.
My wife likes to dress up for her evening meals but I am concerned that Oceania advertise their dining as casual. Is this the norm or do people dress up for formal evenings etc. David O'Neill Todmorden/ formerly from Bentham.

There are no formal evenings. On our two cruises, it was samart casual at dinner. many men wore suits and ties and ladies wore cocktail dresses. It was pretty much like going to a smart restaurant. Patrick
